DIY Makeup Brush Holder ❤

Hey Loves!
Lately I have really been into DIY's! I love doing crafty things, so today I have a post for a DIY makeup brush holder. I would always see these when I would go to Sephora and said every time I saw them that I want a brush holder like the ones they have for their brushes. So I went to my local dollar store and picked up some items to make one. The total cost for this was under $5 CDN!

To make one of these brush holders all you will need is:
- A glass jar/ vase. Anything that you would want to keep your brushes in

- Vase filler, or any little clear plastic beads.

After picking up this cute vase, I review all the stickers on it and took the vase filler and poured it into the vase almost filling it up to the top.

And guess what? After that you are done! Just add your brushes into the vase and you now have a new makeup brush holder!

I love this because you can easily use and get to your brushes as well as having a chic brush holder.

I hope you girls like this DIY!
What do you use to keep your makeup brushes in?

DIY Hair Extensions!

Hey girlies!
As I have promised, I have a post on how I made, yes made, my hair extensions! They were actually really easy to make, I was able to customize them to how I want them to fit on my head, and I did save some money too! So I you want to find out how I made them just keep reading!

So first off to make these you will need the following things:
- 100% Real Human Hair
- Snap Clips
- Thread
- Sewing Needle

I purchased the snap clips and hair at Sally's. I picked up 2 packs of 3 snap clips (depending on how wide your wefts will be will decide on how many clips you will need) and the hair was also purchased at Sally's. I got the color to match the brown low lights that I already have in my hair, since I only wanted them for length. I got the hair for about $85 CDN, and it was definitely worth it because you get soooo much hair, and the color matches perfectly!

Look at all that hair! And this is folded in 2!

To make the extensions:
- After carefully taking the hair out of the package, you want to decide what part of your hair you will want the extensions to fit to. Once you chose the spot you will take one end of the hair and measure it across the area of your hair where you want the extension to be.
- After measuring the area grab the part of the hair where you want it to end and remove it from your head, then you can fold it over so the hair is doubled. Once it is double, you can cut the hair.

- At this point you will need your needle and thread, you can start sewing the pieces of hair together.

- Once the hair is sewn together, take the snap clips and line them across the hair. On my wider weft I used 3 clips, and 2 clips on my smaller weft. When you decide how many clips you will need start sewing them onto the top of the hair. For this step make sure you sew over the clips 2-4 times so the clips dont fall off from the hair.

- Once you have finished sewing the clips to the weft, you are finished! There will be plenty of hair left to make many more wefts. I only made made 2 wefts and I still have a ton of hair left over!

This is what they look like on me! They match the color of the brown that I already have in my hair!

Hope this helps some of you girls! If you make some of these extensions make sure to comment below or tweet me a picture! Remember my twitter is @simplychicxox :)

DIY: Removing Glitter Polish

Hey Girlies!
Tonight I was trying to remove my glitter polish that I used for New Years Eve, and it wasnt coming off! I literally scrubbed one nail for probably 5 minutes to try to remove it! So I searched some ways on how to remove glitter polish, and I thought I would also share this way that I found with you!
If you're anything like me and love glitter polish then you know how difficult it can be to remove it and it can be a HUGE pain.
So if you are having a hard time removing glitter polish, follow these steps for easy removal!

What You Need:

♡ Nail polish remover or acetone. Preferably a nail polish remover with acetone in it
♡ Cotton pads
♡ Towel or napkin since it is easy to make a mess
♡ Tin Foil

The steps are super easy:
1.  Drench the cotton pads with the nail polish remover
2. Place the pads onto your nails and put the tin foil onto your fingers, wrapping it over your nails, to hold the cotton pads in place, and press down firmly.

If you press super hard onto the nails with everything on it will soak right up.
3. Leave it on for about 10 mins and when you take the tin foil off almost everything is gone!
If there is anything left over it it usually super easy to wipe off!

Hope this helps you out if you are having trouble with glitter polishes!

Cold and flu season is here, but that doesn't mean you have to stock up on tissues and wait for symptoms to make you miserable! To keep fever, sneezing, runny nose, and other gnarly symptoms away, just do your daily 30-minute walk and chow down on these foods to give your immune system a hefty boost.

1. Use the power of healthful protein. One of protein's many jobs is pumping up your ability to make disease-busting antibodies. Just steer clear of fatty red meats and full-fat dairy foods (they promote heart-hazardous inflammation). Pick up healthy-fat, high-protein foods, such as nonfat dairy, skinless white-meat chicken, ground turkey breast, tofu, fish, nuts, and beans.

2. Load up on colorful eats. Oranges, strawberries, bell peppers, broccoli, tomatoes, kiwifruit . . . all are loaded with vitamin C and flavonoids, which help your body churn out protective immune cells. Take this quiz to see how much you know about preventing colds and flu.

3. Eat 100% whole-grain cereals. Oatmeal, shredded wheat, and other whole-grain cereals deliver three nutrients proved to enhance immunity: selenium, zinc, and beta glucan.
