My Tattoos & The Story Behind Them!

I know I have been MIA from my blog again for awhile, but life is so busy for me, so please bear with me and dont forget about my blog! :)

Anyways, if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram (@simplychicxox) you would have seen that about 2 weeks ago I went in to get some tattoos! When I turned 18 in September I started planning out when I would be getting my tattoos that I have wanted to get for so long!

I drew up some sketches of what I would want my tatts to look like and brought them into my tattoo atrist and booked a appointment. Originally I was suppose to get my tattoos on 2 different days, however there were some change in plans and I had to change my appointment to get both tatts on the same day.

On the day of getting them, I was freaking out, not knowing what to expect. I knew that they would hurt, especially since I was getting them on my foot and ribs - the 2 most painful spots.

When he started, oh man it hurt so much! I dont have a very high pain tolerance either so it was pretty hard for me, but I got through it and I was actually suprised that I did way better then I thought I would have, and I didnt cry! haha.



 

 

 

What alot of people have been wondering is what are the meanings behind my tattoos. I honestly believe that if you are going to get a tattoo it should have a meaning or story behind it, and mean alot to you.

The tattoo on my foot I wanted to get since I was 16. I got the idea of the rosary ankle bracelet actually from Nicole Richie, but as I got closer and closer to getting my tattoo and drawing it out I added my own story/meaning to it. For the rosary, I have grown up in a Catholic family, so getting a rosary on my body was pretty self explanitory. I added the word "strength" because with everything that I have been through in my life I have need to have strength to get through it. The dove symbolized love, peace and grace and touching the dove is a small heart.

Even though this is a big tattoo, I am so in love with it and am so happy with the way it turned out.

 

For my second tattoo, I got on my ribs. This one says "I am free" with some birds flying away. Again, I am soooo in love with how this turned out. "I am free" has a long-ish story behind it. Since I was young, specifically starting in grade 2, I have always been bullied - since the young age of being in grade 2 (about age 8) until I graduate last year (age 17) so almost 10 years of being bullied so I have been though alot in my life. But one thing that I never forgot was that one day I will be free from all this pain. I was originally going to get "I will be free" tattooed, but I thought that one day I will be free from all this pain and that is what I am looking forward to - being free. The birds in my tattoo just symbolize the freedom. I havent really told anyone about the meaning of this tattoo, since it is a pretty touchy subject with me. But all I know is that the more I talk about it, the more I will be able to see that I am getting closer and closer to being free from the pain of being bullied all my life.

 

I know some people may not like my tattoos, or think that they are not meaningful, but to me they are and I dont care what other people think about my tattoos, beacuse they are on my body and mean alot to me.

 

If you have a idea of something that is really meaningful to you, and you would want it tattooed on your body, then I would say yes go for it because I think tattoos are very beautiful and meaningful pieces of art that you can display for the world, but they would also be so close to you - being that they are on your body.

My Fall Style Inspiration!

Hi Girlies!

For a while now I have been wanting to do a post on fall style for this season. I have really been into the edgy/ rocker chic look, constantly wearing leather and alot of edgy jewelry. Ive been loving this style for a long time, but have never had enough confidence to rock this style myself. So this fall I was determined to make this style become mine!

I thought I would post some photos of my fall clothing inspiration for you girls to see what styles I am loving this fall, and even inspire some of you!

Like I said earlier, I am really loving leather this fall. I love wearing a chunky scarf with it. Studs & spikes are also a go-to accessory not only as jewelery but also on my clothing! 

I think that leather is the perfect touch to add to any outfit for fall, because it is not the perfect transition piece into the cold winter weather.

I have been loving rocking this style so far this fall, and have loved how I have stepped out of my comfort zone to rock this style.

New hair!

Hey girlies!
So sorry I haven't posted in a while, life has just been super busy lately! I hope to have some more posts up soon and even some Halloween tutorials too!

Lately I've been debating whether I want to color my hair white blonde or go for a huge change and go brown.
I decided that I'll try colouring my hair white blonde and then go dark if I want to, rather than trying to lift my hair back to blonde if I didn't like it.
So this weekend I put a whole day aside to work on my hair.
I bought a highlighting cap, bleach, and developer from Sally's and decided to take on this job of going white blonde!
It took me 3.5 hours from start to finish, but it was all totally worth it!
I love my hair right now and think that I might want to stay white blonde for some time still.

-Salon Care Highlighting Cap
-Colortrack Highlighting Brush

 

I thought I would include a before/ after pic of my hair. The before picture was in the summer, so that is why I look so tanned in it!

Better Together ❤ Birthday OOTN ❤

Hi ladies!
On Sunday night, my family and my boyfriend all went out for dinner to celebrate my birthday. It was a casual night so I decided to wear something that was not too fancy. I chose to wear this sheer leopard print top, which I am in LOVE with!, with some leggings and leopard flats.
I absolutely love this top, especially when I added the belt to it. I love the look that adding a belt around your waist gives to a outfit.

Falling In Love...With Autumn, Featuring top from OASAP.com!

Hi Loves!

Today I have an exciting post! This weekend I got a package in the mail from the website  www.oasap.com I ordered a very unique top that I am to feature in one of my posts.

When I got the package I was really exicted to open it. Once I tried on the shirt, it was a bit different then what the model was wearing, however I still like it just as much.

I paired this shirt with a high waisted skirt from Urban Planet and some wedges by George!

Update!

Hey Loves!

I am so sorry lately for my absence here on blogger and as well on youtube. I have been so busy lately and havent had time to make any good-quality posts to publish. So I thought I wouldnt post some half-ass kind of post that wouldnt be worth the time to read. I have also been wanting to make this update post for you guys for some time now, but didnt even have time to do that. However, today I went home early from work so I was determined to get this post and explanation up for you girls. 

So to update you on some things with my life... I feel like I can share these with you girls because everyone here on blogger feels like a second family to me!

So just before summer started, I graduated from high school and didnt know what I wanted to do this fall for school. I was always considering going to university but wasnt 100% sure if I was going to go or not. 

Fall quickly came and I still didnt know what I wanted to do, so I just decided not to go to university this term and find a full time job and make some money.

I was lucky enough to get a full time at Starbucks as a Barista just over a week ago. So everything has been crazy with trying to find time to work, still see my friends and boyfriend and have enough time to still get some sleep. For the past 2 weeks I have been working my 2 jobs which is why I havent had time to film or get a post up. 

I do have some posts that I know I want to get up for you guys so I hope to start posting alot again!

I also just wanted to add to this post, that right now I am IN LOVE with my new job at Starbucks, and I look forward to going to work there everyday. But I am in now way going to forget about all my wonderful followers or my blog! My blog has become apart of me and all my followers and your wonderful comments mean so much to me!

If you havent seen a comment on your blog from me either, again it is because I havent been on my laptop in over a week! But I plan on commenting on a whole bunch of posts once I am done posting this one.

All You Need Is Love

Hey ladies!
Yes, the title of this post may be cheesy, but it is true! Lately I have been having such a great time with how things have been going for me, and I have noticed that all you do need is love to get by and make things better! :)

So today I have a NOTW post for you! I actually didn't know what I was going to do for my nails this week, but I came up with this cute and really simple design!

Change Of Seasons OOTD

Hey Ladies!
Sadly the summer season is coming to a end. Every year this is a hard time for me because I just love the summer weather sooo much! But sadly I can't stop the weather from changing, so it's time to start pulling out my fall clothes.
For fall weather I think of more neutral colors like brown, dark red, plum purple and burgundy colors. What I am looking forward to the most for fall weather is the layering of clothes, colors, and patterns.

Today I thought I would post a quick OOTD with the first of my fall clothes.
I really love the pattern of this top. It reminds me of almost a tribal / native pattern. This shirt is also unique because of the wide "bat wing" sleeves and shorter length.

TAG!: What's On My iPhone?!

Hey Girls!

Today I have a fun non-beauty related tag for you! Lately alot of gurus on Youtube have been doing this tag called Whats On My iPhone? Watching these videos for people who have smart phones are really interesting because you get to see what different apps everyone uses! After watching some of these videos I actually downloaded some of the apps to try for myself!

 

Since I have a iPhone, I thought it would be cool to do one of these posts/videos! Ill link the Youtube video I made down below so you guys can watch it too!

So now lets get right to the post!

 

 

 

So first off I thought I would show you what case I use for my phone. It is this SUPER cute black case with diamonds and flowers on the back. I got this at Urban Planet, and love it soooo much! I dont use this case all the time, so I dont lose some of the decals on the back.

 

 

So when you first look at the lock screen of my phone, you will see this picture of me and my friends as the wallpaper. Nothing too special on the lock screen, just the time and date as well.

 

 

When you open my phone, the first page of my phone looks like this. Nothing too special. On this first page I like to keep most of the apps that came with my phone on this page. I think this page is pretty self explanatory so I dont think I will go into detail with this page.

 

 

On my second page, I have the apps that I use alot of the time. So from left to right, I have my Facebook app that I use for my personal account, my Twitter app that I use to let all of you know about my blogging, I have my skype app, then this cool app called Shazam. What it does is it will listen for a song on the radio or whatever, and tell you the name of the song! This is such a handy app that I use when I dont know a name to a song. One the next row I have my emails for my blog, this app called My Fitness Pal that is like a workout/eating diary, then I have sleep/alarm clock app, and then of course my blogging app so I can work on post while I'm out! And on the last row I have my reminders, BodyRock.tv which is a workout video app, and then this cool app that I just downloaded called Period Diary. It keeps track and counts down the days until your next period. I think its pretty cool and cant wait to try it.

 

 

On my last page I have my 3 folders with my gaming/entertainment/utilities apps. I also have my Starbucks app, Instagram, and 2 radio station apps from my city so that I can listen to the radio where ever I am! On this page you also get a better view of my background picture which is of me and my boyfriend Colton :)

 

 

 

In my games folder I have a variety of games. I dont always play these games, but they are here just in case I ever get bored! The games that I have are: Fruit Ninja (soo fun!), Cake Ninja, Unblock Me, Temple Run, Angry Birds (another addicting game!), Sally's Salon, Family Feud, Planet Fish, Miss Spider, Hell's Kitchen, Icebreaker, and Paper Toss. Some of these are kids games (as you can tell haha) that are just on here for fun.

 

 

In my Entertainment folder I have a variety of apps. I first have IMDB which is a movie searching app to see actors/actresses and reviews and pictures of movies. I have this Cineplex app which is to see what movies are playing at the theaters in my city, I then have a few more games: Tap Tap Revenge, Draw Something, Finger Race, and then some funny entertainments apps like FML, Blonde Jokes (yes! haha), and Truth or Dare. I then have my game center app, and the smart phone messenging app Kik.

 

 

In my last folder I have all my utilities such as my calculator, Pic Jointer which is for collaging pictures, Pixlromatic which is this cool editing app for pictures that I just downloaded which is amazing!! I also have PE-Fotolr which is another picture editing app, as well as Insta eFREE, I then have a iTorch flashlight app, RMaker which is to make your own ringtones from songs from your music library!, and then I have just some other random apps like my compass, voice memos, and stocks!
