Grade 12 Graduation!

Hi Ladies!
So the last few days have been kind of crazy for me with finishing up with final exams, and having my grade 12 grad. But all the stress of getting ready for that is over, and I can now post about it!
For my grad, everything went perfectly! The weather turned out all sunny and hot, after having a few days of rain and stormy weather. Everything worked out perfectly, I had a ton of fun dancing, seeing friends and family, and staying at our after grad party until 5am! I will never forget all the memories made that night. The night of the grad it never hit me that I was actually done high school, but yesterday it did hit me, and it was a kind of emotional day. But I got through it, knowing that I will still see some of my close friends all the time! I also want to give a shout out to my friend Ariel from chiclookxo.com who graduated a day before me!

Now for some pictures from the day:

To see how I did my makeup for my grad, watch my newest YouTube video!:

I hope all who graduated this year had a great grad! Cheers to the class of 2012! We made it!

DIY Hair Extensions!

Hey girlies!
As I have promised, I have a post on how I made, yes made, my hair extensions! They were actually really easy to make, I was able to customize them to how I want them to fit on my head, and I did save some money too! So I you want to find out how I made them just keep reading!

So first off to make these you will need the following things:
- 100% Real Human Hair
- Snap Clips
- Thread
- Sewing Needle

I purchased the snap clips and hair at Sally's. I picked up 2 packs of 3 snap clips (depending on how wide your wefts will be will decide on how many clips you will need) and the hair was also purchased at Sally's. I got the color to match the brown low lights that I already have in my hair, since I only wanted them for length. I got the hair for about $85 CDN, and it was definitely worth it because you get soooo much hair, and the color matches perfectly!

Look at all that hair! And this is folded in 2!

To make the extensions:
- After carefully taking the hair out of the package, you want to decide what part of your hair you will want the extensions to fit to. Once you chose the spot you will take one end of the hair and measure it across the area of your hair where you want the extension to be.
- After measuring the area grab the part of the hair where you want it to end and remove it from your head, then you can fold it over so the hair is doubled. Once it is double, you can cut the hair.

- At this point you will need your needle and thread, you can start sewing the pieces of hair together.

- Once the hair is sewn together, take the snap clips and line them across the hair. On my wider weft I used 3 clips, and 2 clips on my smaller weft. When you decide how many clips you will need start sewing them onto the top of the hair. For this step make sure you sew over the clips 2-4 times so the clips dont fall off from the hair.

- Once you have finished sewing the clips to the weft, you are finished! There will be plenty of hair left to make many more wefts. I only made made 2 wefts and I still have a ton of hair left over!

This is what they look like on me! They match the color of the brown that I already have in my hair!

Hope this helps some of you girls! If you make some of these extensions make sure to comment below or tweet me a picture! Remember my twitter is @simplychicxox :)

Sally's Haul

Hi ladies!
On the weekend I went to Sally's to get a few different items. I haven't done a haul in a while so I thought why not do one now?!
So today I have a haul about what I bought last weekend.

Some of these items may look pretty random, but they're not!

First off, I bought some nice long hair! I've been wanting hair extensions for so long, but was always scared of ordering them online. So one day I came across a youtube video on a girl who made DIY hair extensions. I thought what a great idea because you get to customize the extensions to your hair. So while at Sally's I picked up some 100% human hair in the brand Sassy Beauty. The color of the hair I chose matches perfectly to the brown I have in my hair already. I was so amazed that it matched perfectly! (I will be posting on how I made my extensions!)

To make the extensions, I needed to buy some snap clips to be able to attach the hair to my head. So I picked up 2 packages of the Snap Clip brand snap clips.

Sticking to hair products, while there I also picked up a teasing comb. I have to admit that this one isnt the greatest, but it still gets the job done. It was also pretty inexpensive, so I cant complain. This comb is the Tool Structure 502400 teasing comb.

Another hair product I bought was the Manic Panic hair dye. The color is crazy hey?! I love it so much, and bought it especially for my graduation. The color of my banquet and dance dress is the exact same purple, so I thought I would want to color a few streaks in my hair to match my dress. The dye was super easy to use, and once I washed it out the color was so vibrant. I love it!

Lastly I bought DUO eyelash glue that I will also be needing to use for my grad. I am planning on wearing falsies and I have heard so many beauty gurus rave about this glue. So I cant wait to try this out!

And thats all I got while at Sally's. In the next few days I will post on how I made my DIY hair extensions with some photos of them as well!
Also I am currently editing a YouTube video on how I will be wearing my grad makeup, and it will also be up in the next few days. Cant wait for all you girls to see it!

Naked Palette Quick Look #2

Hey girls!
Today I have another Naked Palette Quick Look for you. This one is a lighter look that is great look for daytime. I only used a combination of 4 basic colors, so this is a super easy look to recreate!

To get this look:
I first took Virgin and Sin, mixing them together and applying that as a wash to my whole lid. After applying that I took Naked and Buck, mixing those together as applying them to my outer corner and blending it into my crease. I blended the colors on my lid, applied my mascara and eyeliner and you're done!

It's super quick and simple to achieve this look!

I hope you enjoyed this quick look!

Unimpressive Products: Part 1

Hi Beauties!
A few weeks ago if youo follow me on twitter (@simplychicxox) you would have seen that I asked if you girls would want to see a post about products that didnt seem to impress me, and didnt live up to the hype that they got. So with will be somewhat of a review/ pros-cons post.
Hope this helps you girls!

1. E.L.F 100 Eyeshadow Palette

I did do a review on this palette earlier, but as I kept using it and started to use some of the bright colorful colors I started to get dissapointed with this palette. A lot of the bright pinks, oranges, and greens seemed to be really chalky and didnt stick onto my lids. I would always try to add more and more shadow on top of the previous layer, which made the colors more opaque, but once I started to blend them together they wouldnt stick onto my eye. However not all the colors are like this. Some colors like the champagne and light pastel pink colors are not as chalky and stay on my eye while blending. It may just have been the palette I got, but I have heard other people say the same thing.
Overall I would give this palette a 3.5 / 5 stars.
It was also only $10 USD so I dont feel like I got ripped off since it wasnt an expensive palette.

2. Physicians Formula Bamboo Bronzer

When I first bought this bronzer I was really exicted to try it out because I heard a lot of good things about Physicians Formula. This bronzer was really nice using it for the first few times but after a while my brush stopped picking up the darker bronze color and started to just pick up the yellow part of the bronzer. The color started to look really bad on my face since it didnt match my face color at all. I couldnt understand what was wrong with it until I noticed that the darker part was really shiny and my brush didnt pick up that part of the bronzer at all. What I have to do if I use this bronzer I have to scrape off the top layer so my brush could pick up the color. It is kind of a hassle to do everytime I want to use the bronzer.
Overall I would give it a 4 / 5.

3. Avon Ideal Shade Concealer Stick

When my friends and I were ordering from an Avon catalogue, this concealer was always advertised for being really great and great for a nice low price. When I started using this, it was in the winter time so my skin was a lighter color. I wold use this on all my blemishes and dark circles. It covers blemishes pretty well, but when I would use it on my dark circles I would have to use alot of the product to cover the darkness. Once I got them covered I noticed that it would leave my under eyes looking really dry, especially when I would use a powder to set the concealer. It would also show any lines that I have under my eyes. Now I dont use this concealer under my eyes and I dont seem to have this problem with the concealer I am currenly using under my eyes. I still use this to cover any of my blemishes or red spots because I find it soft and easy to blend on my skin.
Overall I would give this a 4 / 5.

Hope this helped all of you girls, so now you know if you were thinking of buying these products. If have anything specific for my to try out or to add to my next part of this, just leave a comment below!

Suttle Blues ♥

Hey girls!
Today I thought I would post a eyeshadow tutorial that I had planned for a few weeks but never got to posting about it. Its the makeup that I wore in my Youtube video on nude summer lips. Its a really simple look with a pop of blue in the outer V of the eye.
If you havent seen my video already you can watch it below!

The shadows I used to create this look were Joe Fresh in Ice, and I applied this to my inner corners of my eye. I then took Gold Rush also by Joe Fresh (not pictured below) and applied this all over my lid. Then lastly I took my E.L.F. Quad in Ocean Dream and used the 2 darker blues and applied those to the outer V. Then I just took a fluffy brush, blended the colors together, applied some eyeliner and mascara and thats it!

I hope you enjoyed this quick eyeshadow look. And if you want to see how what I'm wearing on my lips just watch the video above! :)

May Favorites!

Hey girlies!
I seriously can't believe how fast May went by! It's so crazy! In just about 25 days I'll be graduating from high school which is crazy scary! But summer is right around the corner, so I am looking foreword to that!
This month I have been using more bronze and light colored eyeshades, bronzes, lip glosses, and nail polishes. So without further adieu let's get to my May Faves!

Urban Decay Naked Palette

I have really been loving this palette ever since I got it on my way to Venice Italy. Im sure alot of you girls have this already, and I have heard so many bloggers saying that they love this palette too. The colors are so wonderful and soft and they blend so easy! Was definately worth it, and I am so glad that I got it!
Eos Lip Balm

I have had this lip blam in one of my faves earlier, but I am still loving this lip balm! It leaves your lips so soft and the smell is just wonderful! I definately reccomend this to all of you!

Essence Lip Gloss

I got this lipgloss from one of my friends, and also I love it!It is in a small tube, but I find that it hasnt been running out since you hardly need any to leave your lips all shiny and glossy! And the smell is also amazing too!

Kiko Eyeshadow

I got this eyeshadow in Venice Italy and I love it so much. The color is so sparkly and when you apply it to your eyes it really makes your eyes pop! It is a very very beautiful color, but the only down side is you need a good primer to make the color really pop and also to not make it crease.
Paris Glass Nail File

This is another item that I got on my trip to Europe, and its from Paris obviously! This is a glass nail file. I heard alot of good things about them, and all the things are true! It is a really good file and it is also nice and soft on your nails.
TRESumme Shampoo and Conditioner

Lately I have been using both of these products to try to repair my hair and I have found that these have been working. They leave my hair really soft and moisturized. The only down side is that the natural conditioner doesnt smell all that great.

NYC City Curls Mascara

I just went to my local Wal Mart and needed to get a cheap mascara to use as an in between mascara before opening a new one. I was actually suprised with how good this mascara was! It really makes your eyelashed thick and is great to thicken your lower eyelashes!

Klean Color Neon Pink Nail Polish

I used this color for my latest nail art, and I love this color! It is so bright and summery and actually last over a week! I am very impressed with it and looove it!

Zeddy Baby Oil and Banana Boat Tanning Oil

I seriously LOVE tanning so now that the weather is hot where I live Ive been bringing out my tanning oil supplise! I use both this Banana Boat Tanning Oil as well as Baby Oil on my skin when I tan. I love the feeling that the baby oil give to my skin. Its so soft after and feel amazing!

Favorite Songs:
Smells Like Team Spirit - Nirvana
Wide Awake - Katy Perry
We Are Young - Fun

I have been loving these 3 songs this month. Im sure you girls have heard them before and I keep relaying them over and over on my iPhone!

What were your fave May products??
